George Schindler LectureThe Dean Lectures for the Parent Assembly
George’s lecture is an education in presenting magic as entertainment. He will teach his expertly crafted close-up act that he performs regularly at cocktail parties, trade shows, and walk-around. Not only will he cover his personal handling of Sponge Balls, Card to Pocket, Ambitious Card, and Ring Flight (just to name a few), he will show how to add humor to an act and manage one’s pockets for maximum efficiency while performing. As you will see, he resets all his effects while performing. Besides being the Dean, George is also a past national president of the Society of American Magician. He has also been elected to the SAM Hall of Fame, serves on the board of trustees of the Society of American Magicians Endowment Fund, and is also chairman of the Houdini Hospital Fund. He is a member of the IBM, MAES, the Magic Circle of London, the Australian Society of Magicians and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Milbourne Christopher Foundation. As an author, George has penned Magic with Everyday Objects, Basic Balloon Sculpture, Ventriloquism, Presto and Magic for the Beginner, and numerous articles for magic publications. Although he specializes in corporate magic, trade shows and sales meetings, he and Nina Schindler still do their "club-date" act. New News! On
Tuesday, December 11, 2007, George Schindler, Dean of the Society of
American Magicians and past "Magician of the Year” (1986), will be lecturing for
the Parent Assembly at the Mount Sinai Medical Center at 1425 Madison Avenue
(98th Street) starting at 7:45PM. Admission for Parent Assembly
members is free. Once again, admission for Non-Parent Assembly SAM members with
current national card will be $20, and that for magician guests will be $25.
