"The Expert at the Card Table" Featuring Wesley James
An Intensive Hands-On Workshop
On
Saturday, January 19, 2008, at 2PM the Parent Assembly is going to try something
new – an experiment to fulfill the need for more advanced learning experiences
for the more knowledgeable and skilled members of our club.
On that day Wesley James will be conducting a 4 hour session on Erdnase’s
classic, “The Expert at the Card Table.” It will focus on Erdnase’s techniques,
related techniques evolved since the original publication, and magical
applications of those techniques. Besides explaining the techniques, Wesley will
assist all participants so that they can learn enough to go home and practice.
All participants will be required to bring a deck of cards and close-up mat to
the event.
The session will be limited to 15 members and will cost $15 per attendee. Most
likely it will take place at Mt. Sinai in the Seminar Room or Room 1184.
Any intermediately skilled card worker and PA#1 member interested in
participating should mail a check payable to Society of American Magicians
Parent Assembly #1 and postmarked no later than January 7, 2008, to Ken Schwabe
at:
Ken Schwabe
642 Locust Street, 6F
Mt. Vernon, NY 10552
If more than 15 registrations are received, a lottery will be conducted by the
Lecture Committee to select the registrants. Selected members cannot transfer
their registrations to another member. Non-selected members will be put on a
cancellation/waiting list and be mailed back their checks after the event.
If the interest for this event is high, efforts will be made to accommodate all
registering members in some way.
As mentioned at the beginning, this event is an experiment. If successful, this
type of programming might be expanded.

Saturday, January 19, 2008, 2 PM
Where: Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Seminar Room or Room 11-84 (check at
