NewsDecember Show Report
The Comedy and Magic Revue at Mt. Sinai Friday night December 7th was a huge success. A full house of around 100 people enjoyed the variety show produced by Rene Clement. Prior to the show starting, the auditorium was filled with Holiday music while The Amazing Richie and Paul Hsiao made balloon figures for the many youngsters in the crowd. The show started 8:15 after announcements from President Isaac Rodriquez and SAM National Dean George Schindler. Rene Clement was the Master of Ceremonies and welcomed the crowd with some sharp comedy. He introduced each performer and presented some terrific bits and magic between acts to entertain and distract the audience as the acts each set up for their performances. Frank Reyes was on first performing some beautiful and skillful manipulations of billiard balls and candles. A perfect opener. The Amazing Richie was next with comedy and audience by-play. The highlights were his snowstorm in China routine and the floating ball. His whole act was done to Holiday music. The lovely Delilah danced and performed magic for us. The sword swallow routine was awesome and drew gasps. The biggest laughs came from El Fako (Carl Albright). His routine of a magician performing to a comedy of errors was priceless. Danger came in the form of Doug Edwards' act. After skillfully manipulating Nunchaku, he put his hand in a bear trap and performed his version of Smashed and Stabbed. Legendary performer Frank Brents charmed the crowd with his Joanne the duck card routine. Lots of laughs as the duck found the four aces. Closing the show was Matae Khristov. He performed classic dove productions and filled our stage with colorful umbrellas. A fitting finale to a perfect evening show.
